Different devices might change the way your contacts are saved; for example, a device may store a phone number as "mobile," while another as "cell," or "work." In different devices, phone numbers can be stored with various labels, such as mobile, work, home, or even custom tags. However, most of the converters that I used didn't recognize these labels correctly and thus, they combined all the numbers in one column. I had this issue when I wanted to convert VCF to CSV for my old Android backup. Various tools had different approaches to secondary numbers, as some completely forgot about them while others merged them into the wrong fields. The only one that was able to keep the mapping clean was Softaken vCard to CSV Converter, which recognized each label correctly. The CSV file after conversion contained the explicitly separated columns, which made it convenient to import to the platforms that are structured. If your contact numbers are in the wrong column, it is most likely that the converter did not read the vCard structure correctly. Before importing files, it is important to always open the CSV in Excel and check if every number is placed correctly so that you do not get confused later.
