Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion around the Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions exam (AZ-305), a key certification for anyone aiming to prove their advanced skills in Azure architecture and solution design. This exam is quite interesting because it focuses less on hands-on configurations and more on architectural decision-making, security, governance, and cost optimization within Azure environments.
From what I’ve learned, the exam covers designing solutions for compute, storage, networking, and monitoring, basically everything that goes into creating a resilient and scalable Azure infrastructure. It also expects you to understand how different Azure services integrate, like using Azure Active Directory for identity, or choosing between Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and App Service for hosting workloads.
I think this certification is ideal for professionals who already have experience managing Azure solutions and now want to move into solution architecture or cloud consulting roles. The learning path seems to build upon the Azure Administrator (AZ-104) knowledge, so familiarity with Azure operations definitely helps.
If anyone has already taken the Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions exam, how did you find it? Were there specific topics or case studies that stood out? Also, what learning resources or practice tools did you use during your preparation?
Would love to hear your insights and experiences about this certification and how it fits into the broader Azure career path.
