I didn't know that most finance internships require applications in winter or early spring. It's mid-summer now, and I feel like my chances of getting a position are next to zero. And I'm willing to work for free for the experience. Are there any companies, especially in fintech or small investment businesses, that have short-term or flexible positions open even in July-August?

All my classmates are already doing internships somewhere, and I'm out of luck. I thought that was it, the summer was wasted. But I came across a useful article: collegerecruiter.com. The author clearly writes: even in July, you can find an internship, you just don't have to look "by the template". Especially if you shift the focus from large banks to startups or regional companies. I recommend reading it. That's how I found my place.
