Beginner Tips Age of History II Guide

Hi everyone,

I’ve just started playing and was looking for a good Age of History II guide to help me understand the basics. There are so many mechanics to manage diplomacy, economy, military and I don’t want to be overwhelmed.

Is there a particular guide that you found especially clear and beginner-friendly? Also, are there any advanced tips you wish you knew when starting out? I’d appreciate any recommendations, whether in video form, written tutorials, or interactive resources.

AoH2 is a lot at first, but once you learn the basics it gets much easier. I’d start with the simple written guides on the Fandom wiki or https://ageofhistoryapk.org/ —those explain economy, diplomacy, and military without overloading you.

A few beginner tips I wish I knew: don’t expand too fast, focus on building your economy early, use diplomacy to buy yourself time, and keep army upkeep under control. Stability is also huge, so avoid maxing taxes right away.

Video tutorials are good too—just look for ones labeled “beginner” or “tutorial,” not the big mod showcases. If you stick with it, the game becomes really fun. Let me know if you need help with anything specific!
