I am totally confused with all these rules and procedures. It would be nice to have some kind of checklist of what needs to be done, paid, and submitted at the very beginning so there are no problems. I heard something about corporate tax. Is that the first one?

Maybe such a checklist does exist, but there are also lawyers and accounting services you can go to, hire a specialist, and then you will not have problems with reports or with paying all fees and taxes on time.

When you are just opening a company, you do not pay any tax in the UAE right away. When you register a company, get a trade license, and open a bank account, you only pay government fees and charges, and those are not taxes, they are administrative costs. The first thing is Corporate Tax Registration, but it is only paid at the end of the financial year, not immediately. To be more precise, you would probably need to give details about what you are planning to do and where you are opening the business, mainland or free zone. By the way, many people think that a free zone is a no tax zone. Very naive.
