How do you make the ball in Plinko land in good slots more often?

I keep almost winning, and it feels really unfair that luck keeps passing me by. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I read that the Plinko ball often reacts to the angle of the drop and the layout of the obstacles. Not sure how much this helps, but maybe it can make it land in good slots more often.
